We recommend you stop using the female hormone (estrogen) 4 to 6 weeks before the surgery date.

The antiandrogen treatment with Cyproterone acetate (Androcur™) may be continued until the week before surgery. Finasteride (Propecia™, Proscar™) may be used up to 2 days before surgery.

We recommend you stop using the hormones due to a temporarily increased risk of thrombosis (formation of blood clots) during and after surgery. This risk is further increased with the use of these hormones.
